When Sundial determines the current carbon emissions for your location, it will give you a simple indication of Low, Medium, or High. Use that status to find out how you can best minimize your carbon footprint and start making a difference in your community.
Your current grid carbon emission is in the low range (under 750 lbs/MWh). It is likely your grid is currently distributing a good amount of renewable energy. It is a great time to charge your EV.
Your current grid carbon emissions is in the medium range (Between 751-1500 lbs/MWh). It is likely your grid is currently distributing a mix of natural gas and other fossil fuel based energy. It is ok to charge your EV if this is the lowest emissions for your grid.
Your current grid carbon emissions is high (1500 lbs/MWh or more). It is likely your grid is currently distributing coal based fuel. Wait a while to see if this level changes. Otherwise, it is ok to charge your EV if this is the lowest emissions for your grid.
